3M Scotch-Weld Epoxy Adhesive DP105 is a highly flexible, fast-curing two-component epoxy adhesive that cures transparently, creating invisible bond lines.
When using adhesive in a Duo-Pak (DP), consider 3M dispensing equipment as a convenient tool to accurately measure, mix and dispense adhesive. Highly flexible adhesive that provides strong, permanent bond There is no more versatile construction epoxy than 3M Scotch-Weld Epoxy Adhesive DP105. This epoxy works on a variety of substrates including metals, ceramics, glass, wood and many plastics. Its low viscosity makes it easy to apply and self-leveling, and makes it highly suitable for rounding and moulding. The adhesive combines high shear strength and good peel and impact performance with good flexibility, making it ideal for a variety of applications in the transport, special vehicles, general industrial applications, sports materials, construction and consumer goods industries. Recommended applications Bonding glass to metal where significant temperature fluctuations must be considered, such as for glass oven doors Bonding jewellery or other items where appearance is critical Bonding many plastics General fastening applications in various industries Replacing 5-minute epoxy adhesive for improved performance Reaches processing strength within about 20 minutes The mixing ratio of 3M Scotch-Weld Epoxy Adhesive DP105 is 1:1, for fast, accurate dispensing, and with a processing time of 5 minutes, a certain amount of repositioning is possible to ensure projects stay on schedule. The adhesive reaches processing strength in about 20 minutes and is fully cured within 48 hours (at 22 °C/72 °F). Understanding epoxy adhesives Epoxy adhesives, including 5-minute epoxy adhesives, are part of the adhesive class called 'Structural Adhesives', which also includes polyurethane, acrylate, cyanoacrylate and other adhesives. Epoxy adhesives are formulated as liquid reactive polymers that enter into a chemical reaction when mixed. They then harden into a solid plastic material. Once the two components are mixed in the specified ratio, the curing process begins where you have a limited processing time in which to apply the adhesive and move the two surfaces into the desired position. This processing time varies from a few minutes to several hours.
